into a deeper cove;
tentative caving in,
a vanishing of colors
dusky and sullen
against the water’s

is dipping into a more
festive bower, to gear up
>>>>>for a new coming out
>>>>>and back into livelier shades
>>>>>and bloom and a vaster spreading—
nature springing once again
into brighter life!

An exiting thus is but an entering
into dark and then back
to a splurge of light,
and sunsets do not close
but open into another threshold
of a wider faith-full space,
a furtive falling and then—
>>>>>a rising up and about
>>>>>into another fitful day!
